About Us

The Sierra Leone National Social Protection Authority (NSPA)

The National Social Protection Authority (NSPA) was created by the Social Protection Act, 2024 to coordinate all social protection programmes in Sierra Leone.It serves as the central body to bring together social support initiatives from government and private sectors — aiming to reduce duplication and improve service delivery for vulnerable groups.

That provides a minimum social protection floor for all Sierra Leoneans. The long-term goal is to achieve universal coverage by 2040, ensuring a life of dignity for every citizen and building resilience to social and economic shocks.

MISSION

Our mission is to contribute to the advancement of good governance, democracy, and socio-economic development in Sierra Leone through the effective implementation of the APRM framework. We seek to achieve this by conducting comprehensive country reviews, engaging with stakeholders, and promoting evidence-based policy reform.

VISION

Government ministries and agencies (across social protection, labour, planning, agriculture, social welfare, youth, etc.) — under the social protection framework, NSPA is set up to coordinate across many Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)
